Beauty Matsuri Day (Night) Out

I'm back!!!

With a blog post about a beauty workshop I attended, courtesy of the Shiseido group in Singapore facebook contest! :)

One workshop will 3 types of brands! And... It's free!

It started at 7pm at their Shiseido makeup studio.

First up! We had an introduction session about Senka’s products. Senka (専科) means specialist in Japanese. Their aim is to create products which their customers can use, and not be confused about their functions! Which is a problem if there are too many products. Too bad I didn’t take any pictures… But the product which caught my eye is this! Jjang~

The Senka Perfect Oil

This can clear the horny plugs (not in a sexual way, you perverts! XD) from your pores, making your pores look cleaner. *-* I need them for my nose! According to the beauty expert, use this for 2 weeks, and your blackheads will be gone!
Next up is the session about Majolica Majorca~ A make-up brand! I looooooooooove all things to do with make up. And I took many pictures!

The Majolica Majorca Display counter

When Majolica Majorca came to Singapore a few years back, they were only launching chapter 20. Now, they are launching chapter 38!

The star of chapter 38

This mascara (left, black cap) can just be washed off with warm water! How amazing is that!
The reason why I don’t use mascara even though it really makes a huge difference to enhancing the eyes is because I HATE removing mascara. And no matter how many times I remove with my oil cleanser or my 2 – phase makeup remover, they don’t seem to be removed completely. But now, It can just be washed off with warm water! :O
The white cap is to prime your lashes with black fibres before you put on mascara, so they will look longer.

Guess what is this?

Bet you thought it is nail polish. But it’s a cheek tint! Just put abit on the back of your hand, dab abit with your fingers, and blend it onto the apples of your cheek!

Different types of eyebrow pencils~

The one on the left is the sword-cut, which makes for moderately defined brows. If you buy from Korean make-up brands, this is usually how Korean eyebrow pencils look like. Unfortunately, I have to use quite a lot of force before any pigments can be seen on my skin, so I guess my skin is not suitable for this type of eyebrow pencil. The middle one gives you the most defined brows! And the right one is a powder type eyebrow pencil. It is most suitable for people who just need to fill in their brows abit. My favourite is the powder eyebrow pencil, because it is the least harsh looking, and is the best for a natural look. ;)

Lip glosses~

Not a fan of fancy lipglosses/lipsticks but the two tubes on the left have a plumping effect, which seems quite cool. But as with most lipglosses with a plumping effect, it might sting on application with your lip.

The myriad of products!

The Little Humming Book

The Little Humming Book is an eyeshadow palette which is limited edition and is released because of Majolica Majorca’s 10th Anniversary!

It has lyrics in it that you can sing to.

The final part of the Beauty Matsuri Day Out is the Ma Cherie products! Ma Cherie means My sweet heart in French. And they all smell amazing~

There were prizes to be given away too! I was one of the lucky 2 who managed to get the 10th anniversary special!

Guess what is inside the pretty bag?

A BOX?

A Book?

It’s a box!

And they gave us the eye shadow palette to bring home~ :D

Thank you Shiseido group for letting me join this fun event! Hopefully, I would be able to attend more of such events. ^^

Till then. Tata~

Cominica Giveaway~

I'm sharing about an international giveaway today!

Have you heard of Cominica? She is a popular (and I mean reallllllly popular) Indonesian blogger sharing about beauty products mainly from Japan and Korea.

I recommend to check out some of the reviews she made for some brands like Etude House or Dolly Wink before you decide if you really like them on yourself or not.

Her giveaway includes things from Dolly Wink, Lioele and Etude House, but some of them are used just once for review though. But it's still a pretty good deal!

Click here to go to her blog!

Cheers! :) Have a great week ahead!

Too many things?

Hey everybody, it's me again!

Do you have too many things you bought on impulse or things you can't fit anymore? Well, solution is either to give it away, or to donate it if you don't want to go through the hassle of selling!

I have a few places to recommend.

For donation of unwanted but stuff which are still usable, you can try the Salvation Army! They will sort out your items, and some of it will go to sale, to generate some income for their causes!

Image from meginsing.blogspot

On giving it away, you might want to pass them to your friends, relatives, colleagues, or to even strangers on facebook pages such as SGFREECYCLE or SGLADIESFREECYCLE. You might have to ask for approval before you can join their pages. One point to note is that the admin only admits you if your profile is real, meaning you have to use your real account! This works the other way round too... If you are in need of something, and you don't mind second hand stuff, you can try those pages... :D

If you don't mind the hassle of selling your stuff away, you can either sign up for a flea stall, or just sell it online at TEMPOMART or SGFLEA. Point to note is that tempomart and sgflea are mostly targeted at people wanting to buy new or lightly worn blogshop clothings. If you want to sell your stuff at sgflea, you must be a registered user at sgflea, and applications only open at certain timings! So stalk them, and wait for the admins to start accepting applications.

New Shoes

Hello everyone!
I just bought a pair of shoes from a neighbourhood shopping mall for my upcoming presentation!
This is how it looks like.

Want to guess how much it costs?! Only $15.90. Thought it was $19.90 as they did not indicate there was a discount. So I'm happy with my purchase. My feet are relatively small (size 35-36) so its quite hard to find fitting shoes for my petite feet. The first time I went to this shop, the sales assistant told me the smallest size is size 36. Luckily I went on another day to check if I could fit into size 36 with insoles, and another sales assistant said there was size 35. So I'm a happy girl.

Anyway, just to share, if the shoes that you are eyeing is too big, or your shoes expanded over time, you can buy insoles like these:
Credits to a source on google
To put into these shoes to see if it is too big still. If the shoes are still big, perhaps you can try wearing stockings or lady socks like these:

Image found on google as well lol
to make the shoes fit better.

Insoles can be found almost everywhere! Cheap (but not so comfortable) ones can be found in places like Daiso, or neighbourhood shoe shops, and the more expensive ones can be found at like Bata or even higher end ones like Scholl. I think the Bata ones are of reasonable quality though.

The lady socks can be found at pasar malams at 3 for $5? That's the cheapest I have seen, but they are thin. My mom bought 3 for $10, and they are slightly thicker with anti-slip soles. :D

Facebook Blogshop Giveaways

Hello everybody!! It has been a loooooooooooooooooong time since I've blogged, and this time it's on giveaways!

Not mine, but some of the most popular blogshops are giving away apparels and/or vouchers! In case you've never seen them, the few blogshops that are having such giveaways are:

1. Vanity Youth
2. Gipsy Scarlet
3. The Closet Lover
4. The Design Closets
5. Neonmello

They do not require any purchases for you to participate! Most of the times, you just have to like and share their preview albums, and like their pages! However, some blogshops have seasonal giveaways, where the prizes are HUGEEEEEEEEEEEE (read: Urban Decay Eye Palettes!!!), or its a purchase and you get a chance thing, where the prizes are better than the apparels/vouchers giveaways.

So remember to take part!! P.S. I'm not paid to do this post, just wanted to share giveaways! :D

Oh, and Vanity Youth is giving away a COACH wristlet once they hit 500 likes! They are at 139 likes now~ So go like them now! :D

Review: Essence Sun Club Bronzing Powder

Haul #3 from the Essence Warehouse sale!

Bronzing Powder! I bought one because I wanted a highlighter to highlight my nose bridge, and this can double up as one to make my nose bridge appear higher! (Ang mo nose anybody?)

So this is how it looks like...

And this is how I plan to use it!

First, start with a clean face...

Then apply number 5 on the nose bridge! Blend on the nose bridge only, if not it will just make your nose look bigger, which I'm sure none of us wants. This step will make your nose bridge look higher.

Then apply number 3 at the corners of the nose, and blend upwards, to the sides of the nose bridge. This will make your nose look smaller. (Small and sharp nose!!! <3 )

And then if you want a smaller face, you can either apply number 1 or 4 on the perimeter of the face with your natural hair line! Don't do this step with the shape of your fringe if not it'll just look weird. :/ Remember to blend it up! If not it will make you look weird. :/

End product!

Anyways, alternatively, you can just blend numbers 1-5 together using a kabuki brush and apply like a blush to give you a golden complexion I guess... But I'm not too into this tanned look cos I think I look tanned enough even without this bronzer. XD

Quite satisfied with its intended purpose and I think it blends well on me. So I think I quite like it. :) I don't really like the shininess though. But luckily, it is not so obvious. :)

Review: Essence Ballerina Backstage nail polish

Haul #2 from the warehouse sale - Ballerina Backstage nail polish!

I really really think the packaging is so pretty! The cap even has lace prints on it! Really quite good for such cheap nail polishes! Oh, and this colour really made me think of ballerinas doing pirouette practices backstage before performances! Hmm, not sure why, but might be because of the leotard colour which is often pink, like this polish colour which I got.

Anyway, I digress... I got a pale pink colour from this collection, and I love it! (So does my mom cos she loves natural colours)

This is with one coat on...

And this is with 2-3 coats on.

One coat is definitely too sheer, and the natural colour of the nail can be seen. But with more coats, nail is opaque and I quite like that we can control the intensity quite well. :) Similar to the silver marble mania polish though, streaks can be seen (as in the picture with one coat on) if we're not careful... Or maybe I'm just not skilled enough. But no more streaks if more coats are applied! So I guess it doesn't really matter since no one is going out with 1 coat of this only!
